FINDING THE TOWER

For first time visitors this is a bit tricky due to the fact that currently there is a blockage to the tower's door from its address at 14 Kraińskiego (NOTE: this address is NOT to be confused with another street of similar spelling: "Krasinskiego"!) IF you go to the address at 14 Kraińskiego, you must walk AROUND the ancient wall that is connected to the tower and walk all the way along this wall on the side facing AWAY from the street, which brings you directly to the tower's door.

Walking from Radisson Hotel, Panorama Racławicka, Muzeum Narodowe or the architecture museum (C)

Go to the corner of Purkyniego and Kraińskiego ("F" on the map). Look for the long brick wall and walk on its inside (away from the street) which will take you directly to the tower's door.

Walking from Rynek (Market Square), Pl. Dominikanski, Hala Targowa (Old Market Hall) or Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island) (C)

On Piaskowa, between Purkyniego (the first cross street north of Pl. Dominikanski) and the Odra river are two pharmacies beside the large red brick indoor Hala Targowa (A) pronounced: Hah luh - Tar Go vuh). One of them has an illuminated blinking red cross, the other an illuminated blue cross. Between these two pharmacies and next to the one with the red cross is a passageway. Walk through this passage into a courtyard. Continue straight ahead down a driveway where cars are parked until you see the medieval tower. The door is on the tower's right side.

BY TAXI (E)

DO NOT GO TO THE ADDRESS AT 14 KRAIŃSKIEGO!!!

***Just tell the driver to go to Piaskowa 5 (pronounced: Pee-ah-Sko-vuh, P-Yench). You will arrive at a courtyard next to the tower.

PARKING (B)

On the north (river) side of Hala Targowa at Piaskowa and the Odra River, is a large parking lot. There is also parking on Kraińskiego and a small lot next to the tower where it is possible to park AFTER 4 p.m. weekdays and all day during Saturday and Sunday.

BY TRAM: To Hala Targowa (A)

Trams stop at Hala Targowa just one stop from Pl. Dominikanska. Only a short walk from there back toward the direction of Pl. Domikanska is entrance "C" by the pharmacy with the blinking red cross.
